The Modular System
Our Modular System explained
Seacove Homes have created a new concept in housing combining innovative design with standard components which are readily available in the building industry.
Our Modular System
- Our contemporary designs are based on a modular system which allows for infinite layout variations.
- Each module is 7.0m long by 3.5m wide and can be connected together in various combinations.
- The walls are folded flat for easy transportation on a flat bed truck or similar without the need for oversize load pilots or special travel permits.
- The design allows for the modules to be stacked on top of each other and typically four modules can be loaded onto a flat bed truck
The Materials
Seacove Homes are working in conjunction with a major Australian steel manufacturer and the structures use steel and AllgalTM products.
- All exposed steel is hot dipped galvanised.
- The external wall frames are clad with the material of your choice
- The factory installed window and door frames are powder coated aluminium, with a wide range of styles and colours
- The roof is constructed in panels with ColorbondTM roof sheeting and AircelTM insulation installed. ColorbondTM
guttering is also provided.
- Floor sheeting is yellow tongue with cement board in the shower areas.
A range of outside covered decks, with hardwood decking installed in the factory, offers additional optional features.
Easy assembly on site
- The site should be prepared and set out in accordance with the post set out plan and recommended footing detail.
- A small all terrain crane is required on site to offload and position the modules ready for erection. (Alternatively a crane truck could be used for delivery and erection.)
- Master module is raised off the truck and the floor support posts are swung down and bolted into place on the floor system.
- The crane manoeuvres the module into position, aligning the posts with the prepared footings, the posts then connect to the footings.
- Sub-modules (including deck modules) are installed in sequence in a similar manner and the floor system bolted together.
- Walls are unfolded, bolted and screwed together.
- Roof panels are lifted into position and bolted on top of the wall frames from the inside. Roof Panels are pre-fabricated, complete with roof sheeting & insulation installed.
The house is now structurally sound and the deck roof support posts and deck roof panels can then be installed.
